Unique Designed Jewellery

Each piece of Aster & Aura jewellery has been hand sketched in Melbourne or overseas by the owner and the jewellery team. The inspiration for each collection comes from wanderlust, romance and nature. Our first classic collection contains the very first designs for Aster & Aura. These pieces are the classic, go-to 18k gold plated earrings that are durable and wearable. Once the hand sketching is complete, we pass it on to our skilled jewellery makers to bring our projects to life. Our first collection contains styles that are minimalist and dainty, perfect for formal occasions or everyday wear! The small size of these designs mean that they are super comfortable, lightweight and also make the perfect gift. The butterfly backs were designed to be larger than the average butterfly back. We did this to ensure your earring stays comfortably in place. We also included a range of huggies earrings which clip easily in place and stay secure no matter what! They are lightweight, dainty and plated with 18k gold.

Brass and 18k Gold

Finding the best materials to create this jewellery did take a few tries. The first set of designs were crafted from brass, white-gold coating followed by 14k gold plating. Upon wearing these pieces and testing their durability, we noticed a two-toned finish appearing once the butterfly backs were removed from the earring posts. Whilst the gold remained, the silver started to appear. So we started from scratch and trialled brass with 14k gold plating. Whilst the formula worked, the tone was closer to a rose gold than a true gold so we and tested pure brass with 18k gold plating - and it worked! We were so stoked with the results that we decided to craft all our jewellery this way. The brass is durable and lightweight whilst the 18k gold coating ensures your jewellery pieces stay gold for longer. The tone of the gold is a rich, warm gold tone that shines beautifully.
