Sustainability

Our Commitment to Sustainable Jewellery & Packaging

At Aster & Aura, we believe that luxury and sustainability can go hand in hand. We are dedicated to offering high-quality products while minimising our environmental impact. Here’s how we’re doing our part:

Microfibre Packaging

Our microfibre packaging is designed with sustainability in mind:

  • Reusable and Durable
Many of our microfibre materials are recyclable, allowing them to be repurposed into new products rather than contributing to landfill waste.
  • Lower Environmental Impact: The production of microfibre requires fewer natural resources and less energy compared to traditional packaging materials. This results in a smaller carbon footprint.
  • Lightweight: Microfibre is lightweight, which reduces transportation emissions. This efficiency helps to further minimise our environmental

Recycled Cardboard Shipping Boxes

Our shipping boxes are made from recycled cardboard, offering several sustainable benefits:

  • Recycled Content: Using recycled cardboard reduces the demand for virgin materials, conserving natural resources and energy.
  • Recyclable: Our shipping boxes can be recycled again, promoting a circular economy and reducing landfill waste.
  • Biodegradable: Cardboard is biodegradable, meaning it will break down naturally without harming the environment.

Silk Cloth Bags

We use silk cloth bags for our products, combining elegance with sustainability:

  • Natural Fibre: Silk is a natural fibre that is biodegradable, meaning it will decompose naturally without releasing harmful substances into the environment.
  • Sustainable Production: Silk production has a relatively low environmental impact compared to synthetic fibres. It involves fewer chemicals and less water usage.
  • Durability: Silk is a strong, durable material that can be reused many times, reducing the need for disposable packaging.

Brass Plating Jewellery

We use brass plating for our jewellery, which offers a sustainable choice for our customers:

  • Durability: Brass is a durable material that can withstand wear and tear, reducing the need for frequent replacements and thus minimising waste.
  • Recyclability: Brass is 100% recyclable, meaning it can be melted down and reused without degrading its quality.
  • Lower Environmental Impact: Brass production has a relatively low environmental impact compared to other metals, and using recycled brass further reduces this

18k Gold Plating and Rhodium Plating

Our jewellery features 18k gold plating and rhodium plating, both of which are sustainable options:

  • Extended Lifespan: Gold and rhodium plating increase the lifespan of jewellery by providing a protective layer that resists tarnish and wear, reducing the need for frequent replacements.
  • Resource Efficiency: Gold and rhodium are precious metals that can be recycled and reused, minimising the need for new mining and reducing environmental impact.
  • Non-Toxic: Both gold and rhodium are non-toxic and hypoallergenic, making them safe for wear and reducing environmental harm.

Brass and Cubic Zirconias and Crystals

We use brass, cubic zirconias, and crystals in our jewellery, prioritising sustainability:

  • Brass: As mentioned, brass is a highly durable and recyclable material, making it an excellent choice for sustainable jewellery.
  • Cubic Zirconias: Cubic zirconias are lab-created stones, which means their production does not involve mining. This reduces environmental degradation and preserves natural landscapes.
  • Crystals: Many crystals used in our jewellery are also lab-created or responsibly sourced, ensuring minimal environmental
